Perishable Associate Job Description

**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Perishable Associate to join our team at Food Lion. As a Perishable Associate, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, maintaining high standards of quality and safety, and ensuring that our perishable department runs smoothly.

**Key Responsibilities:**

* Provide fast, friendly, and accurate customer service to create a positive shopping experience
* Maintain an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness and courteous behavior towards other associates
* Understand and use company tools such as ACIS and CAO to maximize sales and minimize shrink
* Receive deliveries, code, rotate, and store merchandise in accordance with policies and guidelines
* Ensure proper product levels in all areas of the perishable department
* Process beef and grinds as directed and requested
* Wrap, label, weigh, and stock meat cases as needed
* Clean and sanitize the department to maintain a safe and healthy environment
* Maintain variety and layout standards and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
* Wear the Food Lion uniform with apron and name badge while on duty

**Requirements:**

* High school graduate or equivalent preferred
* Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication, and customer service skills
* Ability to use technical information to solve problems and learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job
* Ability to meet minimum age requirements and physical demands of the position

**Working Conditions:**

* Ability to stand 100% of the time, frequently walk short distances, and perform repetitive hand and arm motions
* Ability to lift products weighing up to 15 lbs. continuously, 25 lbs. frequently, and 50 lbs. on occasion
* Ability to tolerate working in extreme hot/cold temperatures for up to 20 minutes at a time
