Job Overview

Materials Sciences LLC is seeking a skilled Reinforced Polymer Molding Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our manufacturing team, you will be responsible for conducting and leading daily press-molding operations, equipment maintenance, and scheduling for reinforced polymer parts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate molding equipment and possess a strong understanding of production machine controls.
  • Design and test prototype tooling and materials for new product development.
  • Develop tooling inspection procedures and ensure quality of manufactured components.
  • Select and confirm availability of all materials and components.
  • Develop process documents and work instructions.
  • Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to confirm quality of manufactured components.
  • Troubleshoot molds, machines, and processes.
  • Maintain equipment and ensure optimal performance.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Polymer/Plastics discipline highly preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum three (3) years plastics injection/compression molding experience.
  • Hands-on experience developing and establishing the process of multi-cavity mold tooling.
  • Experience required in the injection/compression molding manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of automation, electronics, including PLC programming and Fluid Power.
  • Ability to document process steps and design of manufactured components/equipment, CAD. CAD knowledge will be required of selected candidate (training available).
  • Self-starter with strong organizational and time management skills.
