The Process Engineering Intern will be responsible for various projects within Roquette's Manufacturing Plant, focusing on fructose/dextrose production, including pharmaceutical excipients. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in process engineering, work with a collaborative team, and contribute to the development of innovative solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in process engineering projects to improve performance in energy, chemicals, product yields, and reliability.
  • Learn and apply process knowledge in areas such as chemical conversion, ion exchange, crystallization, and evaporations.
  • Conduct engineering studies, designs, and justifications to support Operations goals.
  • Collaborate with the team to analyze and monitor key parameters to assist with troubleshooting and meeting costs or production goals.

Requirements:

  • Enrollment in a bachelor's degree program in engineering (Chemical or Mechanical). Sophomore or Junior level class standing preferred.
  • No previous experience is required, but a results-based, goal-focused mindset with a natural curiosity is essential.
  • Excellent research, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to collaborate in a team environment and engage with diverse stakeholders.

Work Environment:

This role spends approximately 50% of the time in an office environment and 50% of the time in the lab/plant environment.
