As a working supervisor, you will oversee daily operations related to the decontamination, processing, sterilization, and distribution of medical equipment and sterile supplies. You will monitor staff performance, provide guidance, and evaluate the effectiveness of the Sterile Processing department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist management with staffing, training, performance evaluations, compliance, and financial oversight of departmental resources.
  • Support the implementation and assessment of quality improvement initiatives, including work process standards and performance objectives to enhance service delivery and patient care.
  • Exemplify an attitude that aligns with the hospital's mission, vision, and values.

Qualifications:

To be considered for this role, candidates should possess:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in sterile processing.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of regulatory guidelines and standards pertaining to AAMI, AORN, Joint Commission, and OSHA.
  • A High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • Certification as a Registered Central Services Technician or from the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) is required.
  • Upon hire, or within one year, candidates must obtain one of the following certifications: CIS, CSIS, CER, C-FER, CHL, CSPM, or CASSPT.
  • Ability to perform medium work, including lifting up to 50 lbs occasionally, 20 lbs frequently, and 10 lbs constantly.
