About the Position: We are seeking a dedicated Relief Caseworker to join our team at Catholic Social Services of the Diocese of Scranton. As a Relief Caseworker, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive support services to individuals and families in need.

Responsibilities:

  • Representative Payee Case Management: Opens bank accounts, ensures timely bill payments, maintains updated client files, creates budgets, and submits rent rebates.
  • Rent/Mortgage Assistance: Conducts intake interviews, collects documents, creates household budgets, and completes required paperwork. Follows up with clients at 30/60/90 days after completion of the rent plan.
  • Food Assistance: Assists with unloading and shelving food deliveries, picking up donations, and distributing food pantry supplies.
  • Administrative Tasks: Adheres to agency regulations, policies, and procedures; interprets programs and policies to clients and providers; attends seminars and training sessions.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or Human Services-related field
  • Casework experience preferred
  • Valid PA Driver's License and access to an insured vehicle during business hours
  • Current ChildLine, PA State Police, and FBI background checks
  • VIRTUS training provided by employer
