Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Database Engineer to join our team at CVS Health. As a Database Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing automated solutions for managing and optimizing databases within our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain automated solutions for Open Source and Oracle database technologies.
  • Collaborate with software development teams to integrate database automation process into the software development cycle.
  • Implement and maintain database automation frameworks, tools, and scripts to streamline database operations and enhance efficiency.
  • Perform troubleshooting and resolving database-related issues in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Ensure high availability and optimal performance of production databases through effective automation strategies and monitoring techniques.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience with database concepts, principles, and technologies of Open Source (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB) and Oracle database technologies.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with DevOps.
  • 2+ years of proficiency in scripting languages like Python or Bash for automation tasks.
  • 2+ years of experience with database automation frameworks and tools like Ansible, Puppet, Chef, or Terraform.
  • 1+ years of experience with source code management tools like GitHub and GitLab.
  • 1+ years of experience with CICD tools and methodology.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Cloud, e.g., Azure, GCP, etc.
  • Thorough understanding of database architecture, replication, and high availability concepts.
  • Proficiency in SQL and experience with other database technologies such as SQL Server, DB2 LUW, AlloyDB, Spanner, etc.
  • Experience with AI/ML use cases.

We offer a competitive salary range of $92,222.00 to $222,480.00 per year, depending on experience.
