Job Overview

Position Summary:

Under general oversight, the role entails executing all tasks related to the management of the Bank's commercial and business banking loan portfolios. The position demands a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service to both clients and lending staff while maintaining an in-depth understanding of loan products and applicable regulations.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct intricate transactions on substantial commercial loan accounts, including but not limited to: asset-based lending, letters of credit, participation transactions, and SBA loans.
  • Manage renewals, extensions, and modifications within the core loan servicing system across all product lines.
  • Record new commercial loans in the Bank's core system and ensure accurate data entry for file maintenance.
  • Handle the recording of mortgages, assignments of leases and rents, and UCC financial statements.
  • Establish ticklers to monitor UCC financial statements, recorded mortgages, assignments of leases and rents, and final title policies.
  • Process loan advances, pay downs, payoffs, and perform ongoing loan account maintenance.
  • Provide written payoff estimates.
  • Facilitate partial collateral releases.
  • Investigate and resolve servicing challenges in collaboration with lending officers and clients, utilizing various communication methods.
  • Ensure adherence to state and federal regulations, Bank policies, and departmental procedures.
  • Assist in the development and refinement of operational procedures.
  • Review commercial loan approvals to verify that closed loan files comply with all requirements and contain necessary documentation.
  • Input RREAL information into relevant state systems.
  • Identify HMDA reportable loans and accurately process related data.
  • Scan, index, and upload documents to the imaging system.
  • Support audit preparations for commercial loan requests.
  • Process recorded mortgages, final title policies, and UCC financing statements.
  • Meet deadlines with a strong sense of urgency.
  • Identify and report servicing issues and trends.
  • Maintain confidentiality and trust while performing servicing duties.
  • Ensure that both internal and external customers receive a high level of service and that all inquiries are addressed.
  • Strictly comply with Bank Secrecy Act requirements and apply organizational policies in all activities.
  • Adhere to all regulatory laws and compliance policies.
  • Complete assigned regulatory compliance training courses.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Additional Responsibilities:

  1. Manage special projects and/or tasks related to departmental functions as directed by senior loan officers.
  2. Collaborate with the VP of Commercial Department to ensure the Bank remains current with all regulatory changes, which may necessitate updates to policies or procedures.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  1. Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while meeting critical deadlines.
  2. Proven capability to resolve complex issues and complete tasks with minimal supervision.

Education and Experience:

  1. At least two years of experience in loan servicing or processing is preferred.
  2. Familiarity with commercial loan documentation is preferred.
  3. Strong understanding of various financial instruments related to debt repayment is preferred.

Work Environment:

  1. Generally favorable conditions, with some exposure to adverse situations during business development calls.
  2. Potential exposure to hazardous conditions (e.g., robbery/hostage situations) with detailed instructions provided for such events.
