Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to join our dynamic team at Orthopedic Centers of Colorado. This role is pivotal in supporting our new spine surgeon and ensuring a seamless experience for our patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and update patient records to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Prepare patients for consultations, imaging, and other medical procedures.
- Handle patient communications including phone calls, emails, and paperwork efficiently.
Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and surgical processes.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Commitment to delivering high-quality patient care.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is preferred.
- Experience in administrative medical support, particularly in scheduling and managing patient information.
- Prior experience in a surgical office environment is advantageous.
Surgery Coordination Duties:
- Organize surgical appointments and liaise with patients, representatives, and healthcare professionals.
- Secure necessary pre-operative authorizations and medical clearances.
- Provide patients with detailed instructions for surgery preparation and post-operative care.
- Collaborate with insurance providers to confirm coverage and obtain required approvals.
- Ensure patient records are meticulously maintained and updated in the electronic medical records system.
Employment Type: Full-time
Compensation: $28.00 per hour, based on experience
Work Schedule: 40 hours per week
