About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Certified Pharmacy Technician to join our team at UNC Health Care. As a Pharmacy Technician II, you will play a critical role in supporting our pharmacists in reviewing, compounding, and dispensing medications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Compound and prepare medications, including high-risk medication processes, under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
  • Deliver medications to patient areas and return unused medications to the pharmacy.
  • Document pharmaceutical activities, including patient billing and quality control requirements.
  • Respond to customer requests for assistance with pharmacy services.
  • Operate and support automated dispensing technology to supply correct medications for individual patients.
  • Order, receive, restock, and rotate inventory, and complete expiration date management.
  • Assist with training new employees and contribute to process improvement projects.
  • Complete regulatory compliance inspections of medication storage areas.

Requirements

  • Registration with the NC Board of Pharmacy (unless enrolled in a PharmD program).
  • CPhT certification from PTCB or ExCPT from NHA (unless enrolled in a PharmD program).
  • Prior pharmacy technician experience is preferred.
