The Opportunity

As a Flex Member Support Specialist/Lab Service Specialist at One Medical, you'll play a vital role in providing an exceptional patient experience by offering venipuncture, dispensary responsibilities, and other clinical support services. You'll be an ambassador for our patients in office, showcasing mastery of human connection and a strong drive for service. Your dedication will help remove barriers to care, resulting in a truly exceptional in-office patient experience.

This includes support for the office with a focus on active daily management, scheduling, inventory, and facilities upkeep. You'll be responsible for maintaining the look and feel of both patient and employee-facing spaces, ensuring they align with the One Medical experience. As the first point of contact for patient feedback, you'll also provide any additional support requested by leads, office managers, or in-office providers.

Our Flex Member Support Specialist/Lab Services Specialist supports multiple offices within a Market, collaborating with colleagues to achieve shared goals. You'll utilize innovative problem-solving skills to tackle various tasks and challenges, combining excellent specimen collection techniques with tactful interpersonal skills during every interaction with patients.

A strong grasp of verbal and written communication is essential, as you'll identify opportunities and deliver customer-centric solutions using empathy, focus, and compassion in all interactions with patients and teammates. Self-awareness will guide your daily work, allowing you to leverage your strengths and develop areas for growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide best-in-class venipuncture services for a population ranging from pediatrics to geriatrics
  2. Perform and assist with extended scope duties, including non-blood specimen collection, EKGs/ECGs, vitals, ear lavages, vaccines, PPD tests, and swabs
  3. Maintain high standards of in-office care through proper specimen labeling, handling, and processing, inventory upkeep, and tool sterilization
  4. Manage dispensary responsibilities, including verifying counts, maintaining inventory, placing orders, receiving and stocking, filling, packaging, and labeling prescriptions for patient pick-up
  5. Care for members beyond the lab room by answering patient messages, following up on lab cases, and assisting providers and virtual medical teams with clerical duties such as biometric screening forms, medical record review, billing inquiries, and DOH reporting
  6. Utilize impeccable C-I-CARE in all patient interactions, ensuring a fluid and positive in-office experience through patient intake, same-day schedule management, appropriate follow-up scheduling, strong knowledge of billing and insurance, monitoring patient feedback, and assisting with outreach as necessary
  7. Assist senior patients by performing administrative tasks, such as answering phone calls, sending faxes, and coordinating transportation
  8. Contribute to team development through rounding, attending team huddles, participating in problem-solving, supporting in-office providers, and completing other ad hoc requests
  9. Perform opening and closing duties, daily office upkeep, including maintaining patient and employee-facing spaces, restocking supplies, and organization
  10. Mastery of our technology suite, including Slack, G-suite, Zoom, Circulation, RingCentral, and Electronic Medical Record System, to interact with team members and complete daily work

Requirements:

  • An active phlebotomy certification to practice in WA and at least 6 months of relevant experience as a Medical Assistant or Phlebotomist outside of training/externship environments
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • A High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Proficiency in computer technology, including typing, navigating the internet, and using multiple software systems simultaneously
  • Experience working on collaborative, diverse, multi-disciplinary teams (additional experience with remote teams a plus)
  • A proven ability to display confidence and instill trust during the collection process while delivering individualized, human-centered, customer-focused care
  • A proven track record of persisting through change, consistently stepping up to take action on challenges, and learning quickly and effectively when faced with new situations or tasks
  • Experience with extended scope care, including non-blood specimen collection and processing, EKGs/ECGs, vitals, ear lavages, vaccines, PPD tests, and swabs (preferred)

We offer a competitive salary, starting at $25.75 per hour based on a full-time schedule. Total compensation packages may be based on factors unique to particular candidates, such as skill sets, depth of experience, and work location. The total compensation package for this position may also include benefits.
