Position Overview:
We are in search of a compassionate and motivated Substance Abuse Counselor to become a vital part of our dedicated team. In this role, you will facilitate therapeutic sessions that create a nurturing and transformative atmosphere for individuals facing the hurdles of substance use disorders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients' strengths, needs, and preferences; develop a diagnostic impression based on established criteria, and collaboratively formulate a feasible treatment plan with clients and their families.
- Complete necessary documentation including biopsychosocial assessments, progress notes, treatment plans, and other related paperwork for assigned clients in a timely manner.
- Provide individual counseling and lead educational and therapeutic groups as assigned, ensuring all activities are accurately recorded in client files.
- Facilitate skill-building psycho-educational and support groups to enhance clients' coping mechanisms.
- Engage in continuous professional development through training, clinical consultations, and staying informed on current trends and methodologies in the field.
- Offer crisis intervention services when required and authorized.
- Maintain all necessary state licensure and certifications relevant to your practice.
Qualifications:
Candidates must hold licensure for AMFT, LMFT, ACSW, LCSW, PsyD, or LPCC. A Master's degree from an accredited institution in a behavioral health discipline is required, along with a minimum of one year of experience in the treatment of behavioral health or substance use disorders.
