Patient Care Assistant Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Patient Care Assistant to join our team at Penn State Health Hershey Medical Center. As an essential member of our healthcare team, you will provide direct and indirect patient care, maintaining awareness of patient population needs and scheduling requirements.

You will prioritize patient care in conjunction with other team members, consistently providing ongoing communication with nursing staff for assigned patients. Your role will involve assisting the team in meeting patient and family goals, with supervision and direction provided by the Registered Nurse.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct and indirect patient care, maintaining awareness of patient population needs and scheduling requirements
  • Prioritize patient care in conjunction with other team members, consistently providing ongoing communication with nursing staff for assigned patients
  • Assist the team in meeting patient and family goals, with supervision and direction provided by the Registered Nurse
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to enhance skills and knowledge
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant required
  • Three (3) months of patient care related experience preferred
