About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Ophthalmology RN to join our team at American Vision Partners. This is a Safety Sensitive position.

Responsibilities
  • Greet and admit patients to the pre-/post-operative area, ensuring a safe and efficient environment for all patients in our Ambulatory Surgical Center (ASC) during the perioperative phases.
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care using the nursing process, taking into account individual patient needs.
  • Prepare the operating suite for patients, including monitoring cleanliness, assembling supplies, instruments, and sutures, and checking equipment for proper functioning.
  • Assess patients' conditions on arrival in surgery and provide physical or emotional support as needed.
  • Assist Anesthesia Providers and Surgeons during procedures, maintaining constant awareness of the operative situation and a safe environment for patients and personnel.
  • Evaluate, observe, and treat patients under local anesthesia.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records of patients' surgical experiences.
  • Start IVs, administer medications, and prepare drugs and solutions per physician protocols.
  • Prepare for and manage immediate postoperative care, including transporting patients to recovery rooms, communicating patient needs, and providing patient and family training.
  • Assist in orienting new team members and cross-training existing personnel.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree required; BSN preferred.
  • Current RN License.
  • 1-year Ophthalmology experience as a Surgery RN is a plus.
  • BLS certification required.
  • ASC experience preferred.
  • Bilingual preferred.
  • Detailed oriented, reliable, and able to multi-task in a fast-paced, high-volume work environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
