Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Early Childhood Educator to join our team at Friendship Community Care. As a key member of our childcare team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and education to our young students.

Responsibilities
  • Assure Quality Standards of Care for Early Childhood programs are met.
  • Create and maintain a safe and engaging environment for children, adhering to ITERS/ECERS standards.
  • Assist with implementation of plans of care, following FCC procedure for collecting data and creating quality daily progress notes.
  • Directly supervise children at all times, ensuring their physical and emotional well-being.
  • Work cooperatively with parents and staff members to maintain a positive and productive atmosphere.
  • Stay informed of child records and ensure only authorized persons pick up children.
  • Actively engage with children, promoting their cognitive, social, and emotional development.
  • Maintain DHS/ABC and DDS staff/child ratios reports, reporting out of ratio to supervisor immediately.
  • Complete required progress notes and other documentation in a timely manner.
  • Collect Work Sampling and Ounce data on assigned ABC/ABCSS children.
  • Maintain current certification in Infant/Toddler CPR, First Aid, and Infection Control.
  • Ensure timesheet in PayCom accurately reflects times worked and is up to date.
  • Participate in weekly, monthly, and annual staff meetings, as well as training activities as required.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); early childhood experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence and effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Work Environment

The work environment is usually moderate, with a focus on providing high-quality care and education to our young students. This is a safety-sensitive position, requiring attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a safe and engaging environment for children.
