Practice Details:
This expanding hospitalist program is operated by a multi-specialty clinic in collaboration with a local community hospital. Responsibilities encompass a mix of admissions, patient rounds, and inpatient internal medicine consultations.
Training Requirements:
Candidates should have completed a categorical internal medicine residency, with prior hospitalist experience being advantageous. Strong communication skills are essential.
Call Schedule: 7 days on, followed by 7 days off. Shared inpatient responsibilities are maintained 24/7, with call duties rotated among hospitalists.
Compensation and Benefits:
The position offers a guaranteed minimum salary of $210,000 for up to two years, with potential annual quality and performance incentives reaching $21,000. Additional benefits include a $10,000 signing bonus, up to $10,000 for relocation expenses, and $5,000 for continuing medical education annually.
Reimbursement Structure:
The practice operates without managed care contracts, ensuring excellent fee-for-service reimbursement rates that exceed Medicare levels from all commercial and PPO insurance providers.
Residency and Fellowship Preferences:
Candidates must have completed a U.S. internal medicine residency and are expected to be board certified at the time of hiring or within three years thereafter. The current team consists of eight full-time hospitalists, including seven general internal medicine physicians and various subspecialists.
Practice Environment:
There is no requirement for outpatient practice, allowing a focus on inpatient care.
Hospital Environment:
The facility is a modern, financially robust, full-service community hospital with 320 beds and a 23-bed closed ICU. All specialties are represented, except for transplant services, and the hospital is conveniently located near the clinic. The hospitalist program has been managed by the clinic since its inception to serve the community effectively.
