Job Summary

AdeIphi Medical Staffing is seeking a highly skilled Recreational Therapist to join our team at a correctional facility in Crescent City, California. As a Recreational Therapist, you will play a vital role in developing and implementing specialized recreation therapy services for patients-inmates and/or DJJ youth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement Recreation Therapy Services: Create and implement therapeutic interventions to foster social interaction, encourage beneficial and appropriate use of leisure time, and prepare patients-inmates and/or DJJ youth for reentry into general population or other levels of treatment.
  • Participate in Interdisciplinary Treatment Team (IDTT): Collaborate with primary clinicians, correctional counselors, and other custody personnel to coordinate services and ensure comprehensive care.
  • Assess Recreation Therapy Needs: Conduct assessments to identify recreation therapy needs for patients-inmates and/or DJJ youth, focusing on activities of daily living, communication skills, physical exercise, and positive coping strategies.
Requirements
  • Active Recreational Therapist License: Possess an active Recreational Therapist license issued by the California Board of Recreation and Park Certification (CBRPC).
  • Experience and Certification: Have at least 12 consecutive months of performing similar services within the last 3 years and hold BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross (with AED).
  • Language Proficiency: Be proficient in the English Language (Speaking/Writing).
