The ideal candidate for this role is a seasoned clinical nurse with expertise in developing and implementing evidence-based practice standards. As a Nurse Development Specialist at Intermountain Health, you will play a pivotal role in promoting clinical excellence across the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and evaluate patient-specific and hospital-based programs of care to improve quality outcomes.
- Serve as a patient advocate, nurse leader, consultant, change agent, and expert clinician, driving the adoption of best practices throughout the organization.
- Develop and maintain staff development and competency programs, ensuring that staff competencies, practice patterns, and care coordination processes align with the highest standards of patient care.
- Function as a mentor, educator, and researcher, identifying opportunities for staff growth and development through learning needs assessments.
- Incorporate research and evidence from professional literature into practice environments, developing policies, procedures, and quality improvements that drive positive change.
- Collaborate with other departments, physicians, staff, and leaders to develop and implement clinical practice and staff development goals.
- Lead large-scale quality and process improvement projects, including strategic planning, implementation, and outcomes monitoring.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 5 years nursing experience, with a focus on training, development, or preceptorship.
- A master's degree in a work-related discipline/field from an accredited college or university.
- Certification in Nursing Professional Development (NPD) is preferred.
- Experience presenting in front of audiences, creating educational materials, and facilitating large-scale projects.
- Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS-HCP) certification is required, with additional certifications like ACLS/NRP/PALS as necessary.
Salary: $68,000 - $90,000 per year, based on experience.
Location: Lafayette, Colorado.
