Job Summary:
As a Transportation Specialist at Tenneco, you will be responsible for safely transporting materials to and from designated locations. This role requires a valid CDL Class A driver's license and the ability to operate a forklift.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive a truck to transport materials between the plant location and the outside warehouse.
- Maintain accurate truck logs according to state and federal regulations.
- Perform pre and post-trip safety checks and ensure the truck is in good working condition.
- Inspect truck equipment and supplies, including tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and water.
- Secure cargo during transit by positioning blocks and tying rope around items.
- Complete annual OSHA training updates as assigned by the supervisor.
- Comply with DOT CDL Class A requirements to maintain valid driver certification.
- Operate a powered industrial truck to assist with shipping and receiving in the plant location or move materials inside the warehouse.
Requirements:
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid CDL Class A driver's license.
- Ability to operate a forklift with a valid medical certification.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under minimal supervision.
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and operates in extreme heat or cool climate conditions.
The employee is occasionally exposed to vibration and is required to wear personal protective equipment to promote a safe work environment.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for extended periods of time (6-12 hours) during a normal shift.
The employee frequently is required to walk 10-15 feet, multiple times per normal shift.
The employee is required to stoop and bend, use hands to handle, touch or feel, reach with hands and arms, twist, sit and talk or hear.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include color-coding distinction, close vision, distance vision and depth perception.
