Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough testing and observations on construction projects to ensure compliance with client specifications.
  • Prepare detailed reports on observation activities, highlighting any discrepancies or areas of concern.
  • Review and verify the accuracy and completeness of observation and test data.
  • Assist in the training and mentoring of junior staff members as needed.
  • Lead a team of technicians on large projects, ensuring efficient and effective execution.
  • Collaborate with project engineers and clients to ensure that client specifications are met.
Requirements
  • A valid driver's license and a good driving history are required.
  • Ability to travel extensively throughout the US, working at various project sites.
  • Willingness to work long hours and weekends as required.
  • Previous experience working on large commercial or industrial projects is preferred.
  • Technical expertise in electronic field data collection is essential.
  • Excellent plan reading skills and high attention to detail are necessary.
  • Understanding and experience with performing Special Inspections are required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, is required.
  • iPad experience is a plus.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds is necessary.
Education and Certifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • 2-5 years of construction materials testing and observation experience is preferred.
  • Minimum certifications include ICC Soils Special Inspector, ICC Reinforced Concrete Special Inspector, ICC Structural Masonry Special Inspector, and ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician I.
Preferred Certifications
  • ACI Concrete Strength I is preferred.
  • ICC Pre-stressed Concrete Special Inspector is preferred.
  • Nuclear Gauge / Radiation Safety is preferred.
