Mohawk Ambulance Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Dispatcher in our Dispatch Center. As a Dispatcher, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of patients to medical facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Receive and prioritize emergency and non-emergency telephone and two-way radio calls from the public, 911 call centers, healthcare facilities, hospitals, and company employees.
  • Interact with callers and clients to provide emergency transportation, non-emergency transportation, and general information via telephone, two-way radio systems, or other mediums.
  • Use established protocols and computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems to evaluate situations and take appropriate actions.
  • Obtain necessary information from callers, enter information into the CAD, and transmit necessary information to responding units.
  • Evaluate incoming calls to determine the appropriate level of ambulance or ambulette service required.
  • Monitor the location and status of company vehicles using GPS tracking and CAD software.
  • Dispatch ambulances and monitor company operations regarding the allocation of ambulances.
  • Provide assistance to field units as needed.
  • Transmit information and messages according to established procedures.
  • Inspect equipment at the beginning of each shift to ensure proper operation and report any issues or malfunctions.
Requirements:
  • Ability to actively listen and communicate effectively, with the ability to express ideas clearly and concisely both verbally and written.
  • Proficiency with computers and the ability to type a minimum of 25 WPM.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and balance up to 15 pounds.
