Job Summary:
Mental Health Technician (MHT) is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a strong understanding of psychiatric group processes, therapeutic relationships, and crisis management. As a Mental Health Technician, you will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to provide excellent care, comfort, and security to patients and their families.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct care to patients, including observation, documentation, and implementation of treatment plans.
- Assist with crisis management and de-escalation techniques to ensure patient safety.
- Develop and maintain therapeutic relationships with patients, families, and staff.
- Participate in educational programs and training to enhance knowledge and skills.
- Collaborate with the treatment team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Psychology or related field highly preferred; high school diploma required.
- One-year experience working with a psychiatric client population preferred.
- Knowledge of psychiatric group processes, therapeutic relationships, age-specific growth and development, limit setting, and behavior management.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
