Job Overview

MDVIP Practice Management is in search of a dedicated Healthcare Support Specialist to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will engage in direct patient interaction and provide assistance to the physician. The ideal candidate will be collaborative, capable of managing multiple tasks in a healthcare environment, adaptable, and possess excellent interpersonal abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform phlebotomy procedures.
  • Collect patient samples.
  • Document patient histories and record vital signs.
  • Prepare examination and treatment areas with necessary instruments.
  • Administer injections and apply dressings as required.
  • Organize and maintain supplies and equipment for treatments, ensuring proper sterilization.
  • Handle referrals and prior authorizations.
  • Assist the physician in preparing for minor surgical procedures and physical examinations.
  • Execute administrative tasks as necessary.

Qualifications:

A high school diploma or equivalent (GED) is required; completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program is essential; and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience where two years of related experience equates to one year of education. Candidates must be registered Medical Assistants, with phlebotomy certification being advantageous.

  • Familiarity with primary healthcare practices and patient care.
  • Understanding of examination, diagnostic, and treatment room protocols.
  • Knowledge of medical tools and instruments for patient care.
  • Proficiency in EHR systems (EPIC preferred).
  • Ability to assist in various treatments and medication administration as directed.
