Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the performance of clinical staff and ensure the success of the healthcare program
  • Maintain quality standards for medical records, pharmaceutical practices, and adherence to policies and procedures
  • Consult with PAs/FNPs and RNs on conditions outside standardized procedure parameters, perform examinations, and countersign records and orders
  • Participate in Quality Management and Peer Review meetings, attend administrative meetings, and perform on-call activities as needed
  • Supervise and train direct reports, including conducting performance evaluations and assisting with job shadowing, orientation, and training of new staff
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Graduate of accredited medical school
  • Previous correctional/detention facility experience
  • At least five years' experience as a Medical Director
  • Current (and must maintain) lifesaving BLS and ACLS certification through AHA
  • Unrestricted current medical license, certification or registration in state of practice
  • Board Certified/eligible in the field of internal medicine, family practice, or emergency medicine
  • Current Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) registration
