Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our team in Los Altos, CA. As an OT, you will work with students who have a range of physical, sensory, or cognitive challenges, helping them develop, recover, and improve the skills needed for daily living and academic success. You will collaborate with educators, parents, and other professionals to create and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and evaluations to determine students' functional abilities and needs.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address fine motor, sensory processing, and self-care skills.
- Provide direct therapy services to students in both individual and group settings.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to integrate occupational therapy strategies into the classroom environment.
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary.
- Participate actively in IEP meetings and provide expert input on students' occupational therapy needs.
- Educate and support school staff and parents on techniques to assist students in achieving greater independence.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Current state licensure or eligibility for licensure as an Occupational Therapist in California.
- Previous experience in a school or pediatric setting is highly preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
