Key Responsibilities
  • Fills and prepares prescriptions for final verification by pharmacist, adhering to strict quality control standards.
  • Enters prescriptions into the computer system accurately and efficiently from various sources, including in-person, fax, electronic, and telephone sources.
  • Pulls medications, orders medications, and restocks the department, conducting regular inventory counts and making purchasing decisions based on par levels and anticipated future needs.
  • Gathers, reviews, and interprets information from EMRs and other disciplines to determine patient eligibility for enrollment in the Meds-to-Beds program and enrolls them, ensuring ongoing eligibility and coordinating discharge medication needs with case management, social work, floor nurses, and physicians.
Requirements
  • Current pharmacy technician licensure through the state of Michigan.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Basic computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Windows.
