We are in search of licensed pharmacist professionals with a strong background in Medicaid to become part of our Human Services Consulting (GHSC) team.

Role Overview
The Pharmaceutical Policy Advisor will engage in and help spearhead initiatives with GHSC's clientele. Our primary clients include agencies overseeing State Medicaid and CHIP fee-for-service and managed care programs.

This position is integral to a diverse GHSC team, ensuring that financial, policy, and clinical aspects are effectively managed for our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute as a team member and take the lead on projects aimed at assisting states in the development, implementation, and enhancement of their Medicaid and CHIP pharmacy initiatives.
  • Be recognized by clients as a specialist in Medicaid pharmacy program design, encompassing policy, federal guidelines, program operations, and financial management.
  • Clearly outline project scope, timelines, staffing, and deliverables, ensuring adherence to budget and timelines while meeting project expectations.
  • Assess the impact of policy, legal, and political changes on the functioning of state Medicaid pharmacy programs.
  • Present findings and analyses to clients and key stakeholders, addressing complex inquiries regarding data and analytical methods.
  • Manage multiple projects across various clients concurrently.
  • Engage in business development efforts with both new and existing clients.
  • Contribute to the creation of GHSC's thought leadership for both internal and external audiences.
Qualifications
  • BA/BS degree required; a degree in Pharmacy or PharmD is preferred.
  • Active pharmacist license in at least one U.S. state.
  • Master's degree in health policy, public policy, public health, business administration, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience in State Medicaid or Managed Medicaid pharmacy management is essential, including familiarity with regulations, waivers, and state operations.
  • Proven ability to identify, design, recommend, and implement innovative business solutions to complex client challenges.
  • Demonstrated success in leading effective project teams and being accountable for project outcomes.
  • Excellent project management and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication abilities.
  • Capacity to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
Preferred Attributes
  • Experience in pharmacy benefit management.
  • Consulting background.
  • Expertise in value-based purchasing, alternative payment methodologies, Medicaid managed care rate development, and/or Medicaid PBM procurement.
  • Ability to excel in a hybrid work environment.
