POSITION:
Sheet Metal Superintendent

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Sheet Metal Superintendent will report directly to the General Superintendent.

This role involves leading and overseeing a team of foremen and sheet metal technicians to ensure outstanding quality and service for our clients.

The Superintendent will collaborate closely with management to align with the objectives and strategies of Pueblo Mechanical & Controls, guiding their team towards profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Develop proactive solutions to prevent potential issues.

2. Review project details with management after procurement of equipment and subcontractors.

3. Conduct physical assessments of projects to evaluate conditions and provide written reports as necessary.

4. Perform material takeoffs for projects efficiently and comprehensively.


5. Plan, coordinate, and supervise on-site activities, including scheduling, material management, and rentals, while providing daily oversight as needed for assigned projects.

Ensure all site personnel adhere to project protocols, safety regulations, company policies, and other applicable requirements. Document all incidents promptly, notify management, and recommend corrective actions.


6. Ensure that all completed jobs have startup documentation for any assets, submitted to the startup and warranty department.


7. Conduct job inspections to guarantee compliance with Pueblo Mechanical standards, ensuring readiness for startup, and coordinate with contractors, engineers, subcontractors, and owners as necessary.

Coordinate with the shop for production scheduling and deliveries.

8. Ensure all hours worked are approved and submitted weekly.

Quality Control:
Ensure that the quality of work meets or exceeds industry standards.

Conduct Quality Assurance evaluations on projects to minimize callbacks and warranty claims.

Perform site visits with clients to confirm complete satisfaction.

Relationship Building:

1. Client Engagement

Proactively establish and maintain relationships with existing and prospective clients.

Maintain open communication with the entire construction team at all times.

2. Subcontractor Engagement

Develop and nurture relationships with subcontractors to support future growth and opportunities.

Proactively schedule subcontractors to ensure the overall success of projects.

Human Resources:

Monitor employee progress and appropriately recommend individuals for promotions and/or incentive bonuses.

Assist in interviewing potential employees and provide recommendations.

Safety:

Ensure compliance with all Pueblo Mechanical and project-specific safety protocols.

Responsible for ensuring all personnel wear their personal protective equipment at all times.

Coordinate with the safety officer for job site evaluations and ensure a safe working environment.

General Requirements:
1. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

2. Self-motivated and punctual.

3. Ability to multitask with excellent follow-up skills both internally and externally.

4. Professional demeanor in appearance and communication.

5. Experience with government facilities is advantageous.
