Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologist to join our team at Prisma Health. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for operating MRI equipment, achieving high-quality images, and providing exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate MRI equipment to produce high-quality images, ensuring optimal patient care and safety.
  • Screen patients and staff entering zone 3 and 4 to ensure magnet safety, adhering to Prisma Health's values of Inspire health, Serve with compassion, and Be the difference.
  • Perform procedures proficiently, maintaining high-quality images, and ensuring timely completion of exams.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and medical staff, obtaining necessary clinical history and ensuring magnet safety.
  • Prepare scan rooms for procedures, maintaining a clean and safe environment.
  • Administer contrast materials as prescribed by a physician or in approved Radiology protocol.
  • Implement emergency procedures as needed, staying calm and composed in high-pressure situations.
  • Perform department and hospital-related computer functions, entering and recording data accurately and promptly.
  • Exhibit competency in performing quality control tasks, ensuring standards are met.
  • Stay up-to-date with organizational, affiliate, and departmental changes, checking email on each shift.
  • Provide clinical instruction to staff technologists and students, preparing schedules to ensure proper staffing and coordinating daily workflow.
Requirements
  • ARRT registered in Radiology & MRI, or ARRT registered in MRI, or ARMRIT-American Registry of MRI certification.
  • BLS certification.
  • Basic computer skills, knowledge of office equipment, and proficient computer skills.
Work Environment
