Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Rotor Wing Pilot to join our team at Air Methods. As a key member of our flight crew, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe transportation of medical crew and patients to receiving hospitals within our operational area.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate Air Methods aircraft in a safe and legal manner, adhering to Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR), Aeronautical Information Manual (AIM), and General Operations Manual guidelines.
  • Complete pre-flight checks before every flight, verifying the aircraft's airworthiness and signing off on the Daily Flight Log.
  • Perform a thorough walk-around inspection of the aircraft prior to entering the cockpit for flight and upon completion of each flight.
  • Exercise final authority regarding aircraft operations and passenger safety.
  • Ensure the medical flight team is familiar with the aircraft's medical systems and interior.
  • Complete required documentation and participate in flight planning with attention to detail.
  • Participate in Air Methods meetings, activities, and community outreach initiatives.
Requirements
  • Associates degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, with two to five years of related experience and/or training.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Must have flown in category for a commercial operator or in the military within the previous 24 months.
  • Possess a Commercial & Instrument Rating for the category and class of aircraft, with an ATP rating meeting this requirement.
  • Hold a First OR Second Class FAA Medical certificate.
Additional Requirements
  • Regular scheduled attendance is essential for this position.
  • Subject to applicable laws and Air Methods policies, regular attendance is an essential function of the position.
