  • Hours: 40 hours per week
  • Shift: 8 hours, days

Key Responsibilities:

Patient Assessment and Triage
  1. Assess Patients: Perform initial assessments for patients visiting the clinic, including taking medical histories, measuring vital signs (e.g., blood pressure, temperature, weight), and assessing current health status.
  2. Triage Patients: Triage patients based on the severity of their symptoms, and prioritize care according to clinical protocols.
  3. Document Patient Information: Document patient information accurately in electronic medical records (EMR) and communicate findings to the healthcare team.
Clinical Procedures and Treatments
  1. Administer Medications: Administer prescribed medications and injections (e.g., vaccines, allergy shots, biologics) as ordered by the physician.
  2. Assist with Procedures: Assist with minor medical procedures, such as wound care, dressing changes, venipuncture, and lab specimen collection.
  3. Perform Diagnostic Tests: Perform routine diagnostic tests and screenings, including blood draws, EKGs, and urinalysis, as required by the clinic's specialties.
  4. Prepare Patients: Prepare patients for examinations and assist healthcare providers during procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
Patient Education
  1. Educate Patients: Educate patients and families about their conditions, treatment plans, medications, and self-care techniques.
  2. Provide Preventive Health Measures: Provide information about preventive health measures, such as immunizations, screenings, and lifestyle changes (e.g., diet, exercise, smoking cessation).
  3. Teach Chronic Condition Management: Teach patients how to manage chronic conditions like diabetes, hypertension, asthma, or heart disease through lifestyle modifications and proper medication adherence.
Care Coordination
  1. Develop Personalized Care Plans: Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare providers to develop and implement personalized care plans for patients.
  2. Schedule Follow-up Appointments: Schedule follow-up appointments, arrange referrals to specialists, and provide instructions for future care.
  3. Communicate with Insurance Companies: Communicate with insurance companies regarding authorizations and referrals when necessary.
  4. Manage Patient Flow: Assist in managing patient flow by ensuring appointments are scheduled efficiently and that patients are seen in a timely manner.
Documentation and Reporting
  1. Maintain Accurate Records: Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records in compliance with clinic and regulatory standards, ensuring patient data is confidential and secure.
  2. Document Patient Encounters: Document all patient encounters, including assessments, treatments, outcomes, and follow-up instructions in the EMR.
  3. Report Concerns: Report any concerns, adverse events, or complications to the healthcare team immediately, ensuring timely intervention and appropriate care.
Administrative Support
  1. Support Patient Intake: Assist with patient intake, registration, and insurance verification as needed.
  2. Maintain Equipment: Ensure clinic equipment is maintained, sterilized, and ready for use, and report any malfunctions or need for repairs.
  3. Support Staff: Support clinic staff with clerical duties, such as filing, organizing patient charts, and managing supply inventories.
  4. Assist with Billing: Assist with billing processes, ensuring that all relevant codes and documentation are provided for accurate insurance claims.
Infection Control and Safety
  1. Adhere to Policies: Adhere to all clinic policies and procedures, including infection control protocols, to ensure a safe and clean environment for patients and staff.
  2. Educate Patients: Educate patients on infection prevention and hygiene practices, especially when managing wounds or chronic conditions.
  3. Follow Protocols: Follow proper hand hygiene, sterilization, and PPE guidelines to prevent the spread of infection.
Patient Advocacy
  1. Liaise with Healthcare Team: Act as a liaison between patients and the healthcare team, addressing concerns and ensuring that patients' needs are met in a timely manner.
  2. Advocate for Patients: Advocate for patients by helping them understand their treatment options and make informed decisions about their healthcare.
  3. Maintain Confidentiality: Ensure that patient rights, confidentiality, and dignity are maintained at all times.

Compensation: This position offers a competitive salary of $100,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience, plus benefits and tax-free stipend amount to be determined. We are an equal opportunity employer and welcome applications from qualified candidates.
