Job Summary:
Festival Foods is seeking a Produce Clerk to join our team. As a Produce Clerk, you will be responsible for maintaining stock levels in the produce department, executing the boomerang theory by providing exceptional service to all guests, and ensuring that produce is fresh and delicious for our communities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain stock levels in the produce department by replenishing products as needed.
- Execute the boomerang theory by providing exceptional service to all guests.
- Ensure that produce is fresh and delicious for our communities.
- Assist guests with finding items they are looking for on or off the sales floor.
- Take orders and other special requests.
- Address guest concerns and resolve issues when a guest is not satisfied with the service or product received.
- Stocking and maintaining product levels.
- Filling all items on display.
- Making sure products are rotated, using the first in first out method.
- Following display standards.
- Making sure the sales floor is clean and tidy; no messes or spills.
- Maintaining Produce supplies (i.e. roll bags, twist ties, etc.).
- Log Sheets.
- Taking temperatures of everything regularly.
- Filling out rotation sheets daily.
- Recording shrink daily.
- Maintaining Produce Cooler.
- Rotation of items within the cooler, first in-first out method.
- Keeping the cooler clean and organized at all times.
- Product Order.
- Responsible for ordering some product (i.e. dips, spices, herbs, etc.).
Requirements:
- Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with customers and all personnel.
- Good oral and written communication skills and the ability to handle a diverse crew in a highly stressful environment.
- Complete understanding of all safety requirements and company safety policies.
- Must possess the ability to apply on-the-job safety training to recognize and react to possible safety hazards on store premises.
- Also requires proper training and knowledge of the following equipment/procedures: slicers, proper lifting techniques, trash compactor, baler.
- Knowledge of the retail food business, thorough knowledge of perishable department operations, merchandising skills, and must be able to make timely and effective decisions.
Work Environment:
The Produce Clerk is a part-time hourly position, scheduled 28 hours a week or less. The shift to be worked will vary, including weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
