Position: Cybersecurity Director/Manager
Salary Range: $140,000 – $160,000 + Bonus
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the creation of a formal Cybersecurity Department within a well-respected institution.
- Engage in comprehensive hands-on duties that encompass incident response, threat and vulnerability management, endpoint security, risk management, compliance, and disaster recovery while building a small security team.
- Develop new Cybersecurity and Information Security capabilities for the organization, ensuring the protection of information systems and data assets. You will play a pivotal role in implementing and maintaining security protocols to defend against cyber threats, safeguarding confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
- Assume a hands-on leadership position responsible for the design, execution, planning, budgeting, and monitoring of Cybersecurity initiatives across the organization. You will refine and establish processes related to the Risk Management Framework (RMF), threat and vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and reporting.
- Your primary aim is to enhance cybersecurity capabilities and incident response processes to align with organizational requirements and industry standards, ensuring the protection of information systems and data assets.
- Oversee audits and evaluations of the cybersecurity landscape. Manage the planning, documentation, testing, integration, and execution of cybersecurity projects, including annual budgeting and vendor coordination. You will also be responsible for gradually building a cybersecurity team and providing regular updates to executive management on the state of cybersecurity and compliance.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Demonstrated experience in a leadership role within information security, with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
- Cybersecurity expertise in the Financial Services sector is preferred, with a solid understanding of regulatory requirements and financial processes.
- Possession of industry-recognized certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CISA is highly advantageous.
- Extensive experience in incident response, threat and vulnerability management, endpoint security, risk management, compliance, and disaster recovery.
- Experience in a mid-sized environment with comprehensive cybersecurity responsibilities is ideal.
- Strong grasp of information security principles and best practices.
- Familiarity with security technologies, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, antivirus, and encryption.
- Knowledge of security frameworks and compliance standards (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR).
- Experience in evaluating and managing cyber risk while working within industry-standard frameworks (e.g., NIST Cybersecurity Framework, CIS Top 20, NIST 800-XX, etc.).
