Unit Overview: The Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) offers a vibrant and fast-paced environment where a dynamic team prioritizes outstanding patient care, teamwork, and a culture of respect. Our nursing staff is dedicated to delivering compassionate and knowledgeable care while fostering a supportive workplace.

Patient Care Focus: The IMCU consists of 20 private patient rooms designed for transitional care. Our patient demographic includes individuals with various medical conditions, such as respiratory issues, heart failure, and complex management needs. We emphasize a high level of support and monitoring for our patients.

Key Features of Our Unit:

  • Private patient care rooms ensuring comfort and confidentiality.
  • 1:3/4 nurse-to-patient ratios for both day and night shifts.
  • Collaborative management team including clinical directors and educators for ongoing training and support.

Work Schedule: This position is full-time, with night shifts consisting of three 12-hour shifts.

Compensation and Benefits: Eligible candidates may receive a competitive sign-on bonus of up to $20,000, along with relocation assistance for those moving significant distances.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of one year of clinical experience as a Registered Nurse in an acute care setting is required.
  • Education: A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution is necessary. RNs with an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) must complete their BSN within five years of employment.
  • Certifications: BLS for Healthcare Providers is mandatory, and ACLS certification is strongly preferred within the first three months of employment.
  • Licensure: Candidates must hold a current Registered Nurse license in Virginia or have the privilege to practice under the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
