Position Overview

The successful candidate will assume the role of Director of Consulting, reporting directly to the CEO & CTO. This individual will have a proven track record of executing multiple mid-market and enterprise e-commerce projects for national and international retailers, consumer packaged goods companies, and other enterprises that prioritize digital commerce.

In this capacity, you will serve as the primary client-facing Technology and Account Leadership representative, guiding multiple new opportunities within the sales pipeline, as well as managing existing accounts and related projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • E-Commerce & Digital Retail Strategy: Lead strategy and design workshops, delivering comprehensive roadmaps that encompass user experience, solution architecture, and technology design, alongside budget considerations.
  • Consultative Leadership: Spearhead enterprise e-commerce implementations within a large agency or consulting environment, crafting go-to-market strategies and delivering impactful presentations to executive stakeholders.
  • Technical Oversight: Supervise the work of software engineers and technical teams, ensuring high-quality e-commerce solutions. Define and manage the overarching technical architecture and technology stack with a focus on e-commerce platforms.
  • Team Development: Cultivate expertise within the team to deliver innovative e-commerce solutions. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align technology initiatives with business objectives, managing multiple delivery squads effectively.
  • Client Relationship Management: Provide expert guidance and nurture relationships with stakeholders in client organizations, identifying growth opportunities within e-commerce projects to deliver value.
  • Risk Management: Proactively identify and mitigate risks that could affect project success, escalating issues to executive leadership as necessary.
  • Thought Leadership: Establish our consultancy as a leader in e-commerce solutions through thought leadership and client education on industry trends and optimizations.
Qualifications
  • Extensive experience in consulting within the e-commerce and retail technology sectors.
  • Demonstrated success in a technology leadership role related to e-commerce and software development projects.
  • Proficient in tools and software for strategy, design, architecture, and presentation of digital roadmaps.
  • Experience in overseeing e-commerce platform delivery and optimizing customer experience.
  • Deep understanding of software engineering, system architecture, and project management in an e-commerce context.
  • Proven ability to mentor team members and foster a high-performance culture within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong client-facing skills with experience in vendor selection and management.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, fostering trust and collaboration with clients and team members.
