Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Aircraft Interior Installation Technician to join our team at Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for the removal, installation, and fabrication of aircraft interiors, ensuring compliance with company design specifications and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Aircraft Interior Installation: Safely perform aircraft interior removal, installation, and/or fabrication of aircraft interiors, including items such as trim, carpet, sound proofing, light structure, cabinetry, panels, and other accessories.
  2. Quality Control: Coordinate with supervision and inspection to ensure compliance with Repair Station procedures, internal and FAA paperwork, sign-offs, and quality specifications.
  3. Mentorship and Training: Mentor and train other Interior Installation Technicians, reviewing their work prior to sign-off to ensure compliance with quality control standards.
  4. Project Management: Accept lead responsibilities as required, overseeing projects or other technicians and assessing requirements of assigned tasks to procure required materials and documentation.
  5. Material Tracking: Utilize the material tracking system to create parts demand, track squawks, and sign-off work.
  6. Tool and Equipment Maintenance: Follow standard operating procedures when using tools and equipment, properly caring for and maintaining shop equipment and tools.
  7. Aircraft Interior Preparation: Prepare and install aircraft interior items in accordance with company operation procedures and quality standards.
  8. Fastener Installation: Remove and re-install nut plates, inserts, and other fasteners used in aircraft interiors, applying proper use of hardware and fittings on aircraft installations.
  9. Safety and Housekeeping: Comply with safety, 5S, and housekeeping policies, using personal protective equipment as required, and addressing unsafe conditions before putting people or property at risk.
  10. Assistance and Adaptability: Assist technicians with aircraft maintenance requirements and adapt to sudden schedule changes, coordinating projects with other shops/departments as required.

Requirements:

  1. Education and Experience: High School Diploma or GED required, 4 years of applicable installation, fabrication, or related experience, with experience in the aerospace industry preferred.
  2. Skills and Abilities: Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering documentation, use hand/power tools and equipment associated with installation and removal of interiors, climb ladders and stairs, work in small restricted areas, lift up to 40 pounds, and work any shift.
  3. Communication and Language: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and advanced knowledge of aircraft installation and/or fabrication processes applicable to the specific position.
