Job Details:
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Financial Controller to oversee our financial operations. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in financial management, preferably within the legal industry, with expertise in strategic planning, budgeting, and financial analysis.
Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
1. Managing the accounting department, including designing an organizational structure that aligns with the department's goals and objectives.
2. Supervising, mentoring, and coaching a team of accounting professionals.
3. Overseeing all aspects of accounting, including billing, financial statements, general ledger, cost accounting, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, budgeting, tax compliance, inventory accounting, revenue recognition, and special analyses.
4. Ensuring all financial operations comply with federal and state laws and regulations.
5. Coordinating and preparing internal and external financial statements.
6. Collaborating with external auditors.
7. Evaluating and managing risk.
8. Maintaining quality control over financial transactions and reporting.
9. Developing and documenting business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications:
1. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master's degree or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification would be an added advantage.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or a related field.
3. Proven working experience as a Financial Controller.
4. In-depth knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
5. Experience with creating financial statements and general ledger functions.
Salary:
$100,000 - $130,000 per year.
