Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Assurance Manager to join our team. As a key member of our assurance practice, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality audits and other services to privately-owned middle-market companies. Your expertise will be essential in developing and sustaining excellent client relationships, reviewing and supervising staff work, and collaborating with senior managers and partners.

Responsibilities
  • Provide timely and high-quality client service, meeting or exceeding client expectations.
  • Review and supervise staff work to ensure adherence to firm quality control procedures.
  • Collaborate with senior managers and partners on risk assessment, audit programs, internal audit reports, and budgeting.
  • Understand staff skill sets and capabilities, monitoring and reviewing work product, and articulating notes for improvement.
  • Advise clients on economic and regulatory risks, resolving complex accounting issues.
  • Apply GAAP to complex situations, writing technical memos and inter-office consultation papers, and serving as a technical resource.
  • Inform partners of engagement progress, taking timely action on technical, scheduling, and other problems.
  • Provide training, leadership, recognition, and administrative direction to motivate and develop team members.
  • Understand firm economics and manage profitable engagements, with direct client billing responsibility.
  • Support management decisions on policies and procedures, bringing support to the team.
  • Accept administrative and supervisory responsibilities, including recruiting and leading professional development conferences, as required.
  • Stay current on technical and regulatory issues.
  • Assist with other tasks as requested.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field required.
  • 5+ years of experience in a public accounting firm or related experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of supervising and training experience.
  • CPA certification required.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis upon hire.
Skills Requirements
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, especially Excel).
  • QuickBooks and ProSystems experience is a plus.
  • Proven experience in managing multiple client engagements simultaneously.
  • Strong motivation to meet client deadlines and provide excellent client service.
  • Proven verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Possess excellent people development and delegation skills, including training/instruction and engagement scheduling and budgeting.
  • Candidates must possess a willingness and ability to travel to client locations.
  • Possess executive presence with ability to be the primary contact for the client and to prepare and present presentations to clients and potential clients.
  • Creative problem-solving and research ability demonstrating sound decision-making skills.
  • Strong organizational techniques are required.
  • Responsibility over business development and marketing.
