Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Perfusionist to join our team at the University of Southern California. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing all aspects of extracorporeal cardiopulmonary support for adult and/or pediatric patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate extracorporeal circulation equipment during medical situations necessary to support or replace a patient's own cardiopulmonary and circulatory functions.
  • Induce and reverse hypothermia and hyperthermia.
  • Write, collect, and maintain documentation for each case, and ensure maintenance of all equipment and quality control.
Requirements
  • Specialized/technical training in perfusion technology.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as an adult perfusionist, with some experience as a pediatric perfusionist.
  • Graduate from a school of perfusion technology accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP).
  • Certified Clinical Perfusionist (CCP) certification, or board eligible for certification by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion (ABCP).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Attends and completes all hospital-required safety training courses.
  • Maintains ABCP certification, as well as certifications for cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), basic life support (BLS), and/or basic cardio life support (BCLS).
