Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory Registered Nurse

The Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory Registered Nurse provides high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment. This role requires strong clinical skills, excellent communication, and the ability to work effectively in a team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing patient needs, developing and implementing individualized care plans, and collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Assess patient needs and develop individualized care plans
- Provide direct patient care, including administering medications, performing procedures, and monitoring patient vital signs
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure seamless care transitions and optimal patient outcomes
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure understanding and compliance with care plans
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including documentation of care provided and patient progress
- Stay current with advances in cardiac catheterization laboratory procedures and technologies
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with current New York registration
- Baccalaureate in Nursing (BSN) required for all external RNs hired on or after January 1st, 2018
- One year of acute care nursing experience preferred
- Current BLS certification (through American Heart Association)
- ACLS certification (through American Heart Association) required for all RNs, except for NICU and OR RNs
- PALS certification (through American Heart Association) required for all RNs working in the PACU, 5I Pediatrics, Emergency Department, Armonk Urgent Care, and Ambulatory Surgery
- NRP certification required for all RNs working in the Mother-Baby unit, Labor & Delivery, and NICU
The Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory Registered Nurse will work in a fast-paced environment with continuous interruptions. The successful candidate must be able to adapt to changing situations, prioritize tasks, and maintain a high level of concentration. The position requires the ability to move about freely, remain stationary for extended periods, and transport patients of all weights with a minimum of one assist or assistive device/equipment.
Primary Population ServedThe Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory Registered Nurse will provide care to patients of all ages, including neonates, infants, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients. The position requires the ability to understand and relate to theories behind several related concepts and remember multiple tasks given during the course of a day.
