Athletico Physical Therapy is seeking a dedicated and skilled Senior Nurse Practitioner for our on-site healthcare services.

This role offers a unique opportunity to move beyond conventional nursing environments and significantly influence employee health, wellness, and safety.

Schedule:
Monday - Friday 6am - 2pm

Job Summary:

Under the guidance of the Medical Director and Supervising Physician, the Nurse Practitioner oversees the daily operations of the on-site healthcare facility.

The Nurse Practitioner delivers patient care encompassing case management, physical examinations, injury evaluations, and minor medical procedures.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct post-offer physical assessments and non-work-related/return-to-work medical evaluations
  • Provide urgent and episodic medical care to employees
  • Respond to on-site medical emergencies and assess employees with acute health issues, referring when necessary
  • Evaluate, diagnose, treat, and manage ongoing medical care for workplace injuries and non-occupational conditions (episodic and urgent), including prescribing medications and coordinating referrals with the physician
  • Lead chronic disease management initiatives, including educational wellness physicals
  • Maintain accurate medical records and employee incident documentation
  • Perform minor medical procedures such as suturing, splinting, joint injections, trigger finger injections, arthrocentesis, and interpreting x-rays
  • Manage workers' compensation claims in collaboration with employer representatives and insurance providers
  • Facilitate return-to-work and light-duty assignments for employees recovering from work-related injuries
  • Keep a current log of workplace injuries detailing treatment plans for weekly reviews
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and DOT regulations, including hearing conservation, blood-borne pathogen training, random drug testing, and follow-up programs
  • Oversee the inventory of medications and supplies in the healthcare unit
  • Be available for on-call duties as required
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner
  • Background in occupational health preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
  • Valid state licensure
  • Current First Aid/CPR/AED certification
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Knowledge of OSHA Recordability and workers' compensation principles (preferred)
  • Strong communication skills across all organizational levels
  • Excellent administrative and management capabilities
  • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight
  • Commitment to maintaining professionalism, ethics, and confidentiality
  • Familiarity with practices in manufacturing and production environments
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination may be required
