About the Job

We are seeking a skilled Checkout Associate to join our sales floor team at Schnucks Markets. This role involves working with customers, processing transactions, and maintaining a clean and organized store environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process transactions efficiently and accurately, handling various payment options such as cash, checks, debit cards, credit cards, EBT cards, and WIC vouchers
• Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers prior to checking their order
• Identify and know produce items, using proper codes for inventory management
• Distinguish between manufacturer coupons and Schnucks coupons, applying them correctly
• Maintain a clean and organized store environment, adhering to health and safety standards

Physical Demands of the Job

• Bending and stooping to reach shelves or pick up items
• Lifting up to 25 pounds regularly
• Standing for long periods, potentially up to 8 hours a day

Requirements for Internal Candidates

• At least six months of employment with Schnucks Markets in a store or facility role for internal candidates from stores or facilities, one year for those in the Store Support Center
• Good standing, not currently on a performance improvement plan or under active discipline
• Manager approval based on performance if invited for an interview
