Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Scooter Driver to join our team at Restaurant Depot. As a Scooter Driver, you will be responsible for operating pallet jacks to move items from one place to another, assisting with loading and unloading activities, and ensuring that the right item is selected and transported to the delivery pallet safely.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate pallet jacks to transport items throughout the warehouse, ensuring efficient and safe movement of goods.
- Assist with loading and unloading items from delivery trucks, verifying the accuracy of orders and ensuring that items are properly secured.
- Prepare pallets for handling objects, ensuring that they are properly stacked and secured.
- Perform pre-checks on electric pallet jacks to ensure that they are in proper working order, identifying and reporting any issues to the maintenance team.
- Perform minor troubleshooting activities when needed, resolving issues quickly and efficiently.
- Ensure that electric pallet jacks are maintained on a periodic basis, following established maintenance schedules.
- Pick orders from storage areas, verifying the accuracy of orders from order sheets and ensuring that items are properly labeled and stored.
- Count quantity of items asked for by the customer, ensuring that any broken items are isolated and reported to the supervisor immediately.
- Operate electric pallet jack to lift and transport items to the labeling and quality control section, ensuring that items are properly handled and stored.
- Make sure that all items are boxed and appropriately labeled, ensuring that they are properly prepared for shipment.
- Transport items to the delivery pallets safely and urgently, ensuring that items are properly secured and handled.
- Make sure that any unusual incidents or accidents are reported to the supervisor immediately, ensuring that the workplace remains safe and secure.
- Ensure that any empty containers are removed from designated locations following a picking task, maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
- Perform a variety of warehousing tasks, such as replenishing pick locations and performing labeling, sorting, and storing of picked products.
- Assemble containers and boxes, ensuring that they are properly prepared for shipment and that supplies and equipment are properly maintained.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 1-2 years of experience in a warehouse or logistics environment preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
Compensation:
$16.89 per hour.
