Job Overview:

The Armed Security Specialist I position at the Arizona Official Website of State of Arizona is dedicated to delivering protective services against potential threats that may necessitate the use of force, including lethal force. Key responsibilities encompass executing physical security measures, regulating facility access, and safeguarding vital assets. Additional tasks include ensuring compliance with applicable regulations, overseeing security systems, and reacting to security incidents. The role also entails engaging with diverse individuals and providing emergency response services.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Regulating entry and exit points of the facility

• Supervising restricted zones and performing inspections

• Upholding perimeter security and observing sensitive locations

• Acting as a first responder during critical situations

• Engaging with individuals for inspections

• Assisting in recreational initiatives

Qualifications:

• Basic understanding of access control and security procedures

• Knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations

• Skill in operating security apparatus and vehicles

• Effective communication skills and customer service orientation

• Training and experience in law enforcement functions

Preferred Qualifications:

Preferred candidates may possess an Arizona Guard Card, a background in military police or law enforcement, and certifications in Physical Security and Anti-terrorism training.

Pre-Employment Criteria:

• Valid state-issued driver's license

• Successful completion of background evaluations

• Firearms proficiency

• Completion of security training and certifications within designated timelines

• Availability for flexible work shifts
