Bartender

We are seeking a skilled and charismatic Bartender to join our team at Barcelona Wine Bar. As a Bartender, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and creating a memorable experience for our guests.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and serve a wide range of beverages, including cocktails, wine, and beer
  • Interact with customers, take orders, and serve food and drinks in a timely and efficient manner
  • Assess guests' needs and preferences and make recommendations to enhance their experience
  • Restock and replenish bar inventory and supplies to ensure a seamless service
  • Maintain a clean and organized bar area, adhering to company standards
  • Verify guests' identification and confirm it meets legal drinking age requirements
  • Monitor and control alcohol consumption to ensure guest safety
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues to ensure seamless service and maintain a positive work environment
  • Stay focused on providing exceptional guest service and maintain a high level of professionalism
  • Comply with all food and beverage regulations and company policies

Requirements

  • Basic mathematical skills to handle cash and make change
  • Basic reading skills to understand menus and recipes
  • Basic computer skills to operate point-of-sale systems
  • Knowledge of beer, wine, and cocktail recipes
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with guests and colleagues
  • Understanding of company food and beverage specifications
  • Comprehension of workplace safety procedures

Working Conditions

  • Ability to stand for long periods and walk throughout the shift
  • Ability to continuously reach, bend, lift, and carry
  • Ability to remain stationary for parts of the shift
  • Must be of legal age to serve liquor per state law

Education/Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
  • Prior restaurant experience is a plus, but not required
  • Pass TIPS/ABC Alcohol test with a score of 70% or better
