Job Overview:

The Nutrition Program Educator is responsible for engaging participants in educational sessions and promoting the nutrition education initiative within the community. The curriculum emphasizes healthy eating, safe food handling, meal planning, and physical wellness. The educator will gather feedback and provide reports to the Program Specialist, working under the supervision of the Nutrition Education Assistant Director.

Required Skills and Competencies:
  • Ability to design and implement lesson plans that captivate audiences through diverse teaching strategies.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficient in using technology to disseminate research-based information.
  • Utilize educational tools, including recipes and practical demonstrations.
  • Engage in relevant professional development opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Recruit and enroll participants in nutrition programs.
  • Deliver educational content using suitable methods.
  • Assess and refine program materials.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members.
  • Work alongside local educators and specialists.
  • Evaluate program effectiveness and compile reports.
Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of three years' experience in nutrition and food preparation.
  • Possession of reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
  • Residency in the service area is required.
