Financial Aid Advisor - New Student Enrollment

Position Summary:
The Financial Aid Advisor reports to the Assistant Director of Financial Aid Services. This role is essential in fostering effective communication and collaboration between the Offices of Undergraduate Admission and Financial Aid Services.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Embody the University Mission through dedicated performance, exceptional service to stakeholders, respectful teamwork, and active support of the University's Mission and Catholic and Lasallian higher education principles.
2. Package students for financial assistance and assess eligibility in accordance with university, state, and federal guidelines.
3. Assist in evaluating enrollment reports for new incoming freshmen and transfer students.
4. Serve as a secondary support staff member for Endowment Scholarship processing.
5. Review reports concerning incoming freshmen and transfer students regarding financial aid documentation; collaborate with Admissions staff to ensure timely completion of necessary paperwork.
6. Conduct follow-up communications with new incoming students about the status of their financial aid files.
7. Analyze and interpret relevant financial aid information from various sources.
8. Provide students with accurate updates regarding the processing and status of their financial aid applications.
9. Maintain precise records of students awarded financial aid and disseminate information to appropriate parties.
10. Participate in university committees and/or task forces as assigned.
11. Engage in university visit days, open houses, and orientations.
12. Assist in organizing recruitment events and activities as needed.
13. Counsel prospective students and their families regarding admission and financial aid processes.
14. Act as administrative support for prospective students and the Office of Financial Aid Services.
15. Build and maintain relationships with high school guidance counselors.
16. Present financial aid information and processes to small groups.
17. Attend seminars, training sessions, and conferences as required.
18. Perform additional job-related duties as assigned by the Director of Financial Aid Services and/or the Assistant Director of Financial Aid Services.
Bachelor's degree required. A minimum of three years of demonstrated experience in a Financial Aid Office at the college or university level. Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and interpersonal skills are essential.
