Overview

Kelly Science, Engineering, Technology & Telecom seeks a skilled Laboratory Equipment Specialist to join our team in West Point, PA. This exciting opportunity involves working on site with our client, utilizing your expertise in laboratory equipment management and validation.

Job Description

As a Laboratory Equipment Specialist, you will be responsible for managing equipment assets at multiple locations, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements (cGMP), internal policies, and procedures. Your primary duties will include:

  • Managing equipment assets at multiple locations
  • Gaining a working knowledge of laboratory equipment to facilitate troubleshooting and/or communicate with the vendor/service engineer to identify resolutions
  • Participating in computer system validation activities associated with new or upgraded equipment or software packages
  • Originating and progressing Deviations and Change Control records
  • Performing and documenting investigations and assisting in developing and implementing CAPA plans
  • Contributing to new SOP drafting, implementation, and revisions
  • Representing the laboratory on all aspects of laboratory equipment during audits

You will work closely with the business unit in the laboratories, various quality support oversight, IT technical support, and various software and instrument vendors/manufacturers. Your role will involve initiating, processing, and tracking work orders to facilitate timely repairs, modifications, and moves of laboratory equipment.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • Bachelor's degree in biological or chemical science and/or engineering plus 2-4 years of experience participating in the validation of computerized laboratory systems or instruments
  • Experience working in a GMP environment and maintaining laboratory equipment
  • Highly organized, strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently
  • Capable of handling multiple high-priority tasks simultaneously and succeeding in a dynamic environment
  • Awareness to independently prioritize tasks and responsibilities based on actual or perceived level of importance and/or potential impact to the GMP environment

The ideal candidate will possess direct experience operating analytical instrumentation within a pharmaceutical or equivalent laboratory (vaccine or large molecule focus) and the ability to thoroughly review and scrutinize validation requirements through the life cycle of the system.

Benefits and Compensation

This is a competitive position offering a salary range of $75,000 - $90,000 per year, depending on experience, as well as opportunities for professional growth and development.
