Position Overview:

Work Environment:
This role can be fulfilled in a hybrid capacity from our Columbus office or remotely. Work hours are flexible, aligning with our Core Flex schedule, primarily between 7am and 6pm Eastern time.

Team Dynamics:
You will be part of the Nationwide Brokerage Solutions (NBS) Accounting team, a diverse group dedicated to various accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, financial reporting, collections, and financing.

Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and analyze financial documents for assigned business areas.
- Review reports and data for accuracy and completeness to ensure proper submission of internal and external reports.
- Maintain accounting records necessary for the preparation of required reports.
- Develop and submit complex financial transactions to ensure accurate reporting.
- Communicate with field staff or external sources regarding discrepancies or issues as needed.
- Stay updated on changes to GAAP and/or STAT requirements.
- Contribute to the enhancement of job performance and workflow processes.
- Assist in the design and development of new systems and processes.
- Prepare complex financial information for compliance with new requirements or agreements.
- Complete assigned reports or projects accurately with proper documentation.
- Prepare state and supplemental reports as required.
- Assist in the preparation of financial information for external auditors and respond to inquiries as necessary.
- Prepare special reports and presentations as directed.
- May perform additional responsibilities as assigned.

Reporting Structure:
This position reports to the Accounting Supervisor or Manager.

Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; accounting major preferred.
- Certification: Progress towards CPA is preferred.
- Experience: 2-4 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in the insurance sector.
- Skills: Knowledge of GAAP and/or STAT practices, financial statement preparation, and strong communication skills for interaction with management and external entities.

Work Conditions:
- Overtime Eligibility: Exempt (not eligible)
- Normal office environment with potential extended hours during peak periods.
