Position Summary:

  • The Clinical Research Participant Engagement Specialist is tasked with onboarding both new and existing clinical trial participants, executing a range of preliminary screening processes to assess eligibility for various clinical studies.
  • This role involves implementing recruitment strategies while adhering to regulatory standards that safeguard the confidentiality of all participant data.
  • Additional duties may encompass mentoring new staff members and contributing to departmental initiatives focused on participant outreach, performance metrics, and database enhancement.
  • The Specialist serves as the initial point of contact for prospective participants, providing them with information regarding clinical research and available study options.
  • Clear communication of protocol requirements, study procedures, compensation details, and relevant policies is essential to ensure a professional interaction with potential participants.
  • Evaluation of participant qualifications for study inclusion is conducted based on information collected during the intake process, in alignment with study-specific inclusion/exclusion criteria and medical guidelines.
  • Maintaining accurate, accessible, and confidential participant records and documentation is a critical responsibility.
  • Engagement with participants through various communication methods, including text and email, must comply with regulatory standards for recruitment, follow-up, and database maintenance.
  • Scheduling study screenings and managing participant cohorts/groups for dosing in accordance with established timelines is required.
  • A positive demeanor towards participants is vital to foster trust in the clinical research process.
  • Responsibilities may also include database maintenance and other targeted outreach initiatives.
  • Opportunities to train and guide new team members may arise.
  • Cross-functional tasks within the recruitment department may involve participant compensation, marketing efforts, website management, and social media outreach.
  • Pre-screening for clinical trials and participant assessments for ongoing studies are part of the role.
  • Gathering participant background information to determine study suitability is essential.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Public Health, Life Sciences, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • A minimum of three years in a clinical environment (research or healthcare) is preferred.
  • At least one year of experience in clinical research recruitment is advantageous.
  • Healthcare practice experience with a valid license (RN, LPN) is acceptable.
  • Public Health graduates are encouraged to apply.
  • 3-5 years of experience in medical information is beneficial.
  • Experience with Electronic Health Records is preferred.
  • Medical office experience is a plus.
  • Ability to multitask and navigate various computer applications simultaneously is essential.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology is required.
  • A clinical mindset and the ability to make independent decisions are crucial.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills are necessary.
  • Experience in patient evaluation and intervention is beneficial.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of professionalism and ethical standards is expected.
