Qualifications for the CNA Role
  • Completion of a state-approved nursing assistant program and/or successful passing of a competency evaluation that meets state regulations.
  • Possession of unrestricted certification as a CNA, meeting state-specific requirements.
  • A minimum of six months of experience as a CNA in a healthcare setting.
  • Current CPR certification as required by the facility, along with any other health screenings mandated by specific facilities or regulatory bodies.
Working Conditions
  • Various healthcare facility environments; potential exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and other infectious materials.
Key Responsibilities of the CNA
  • Adhere to ATC policies and procedures.
  • Follow nursing policies and procedures of the client facility.
  • Maintain confidentiality in accordance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
  • Effectively communicate relevant information to appropriate personnel.
  • Document patient care as assigned, following facility protocols.
  • Implement the patient's care plan as directed.
  • Provide personal care services to patients as required.
  • Measure and record vital signs in accordance with facility guidelines.
  • Track patient input and output as assigned.
  • Engage in continuing education to maintain competency and meet state requirements.
  • Deliver patient care with respect for cultural diversity and age appropriateness, ensuring autonomy, rights, and dignity are upheld.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned, with responsibilities subject to change based on assignment.
